I had LASIK three weeks ago yesterday. At my last appointment 9 days ago, I saw 20/40 in my left eye with residual astigmatism and 20/25 in my right eye with no problems in that eye.
The day after LASIK, I had to have the flap refloated in my left eye due to some minor wrinkling. In post op appointments, my doctor says that eye is healing well and I should have no problems with that.
My question is - when I'm looking at a light background or reading/writing on white paper, I see what looks like a small piece of fuzz or some kind of fiber in my line of vision. I have seen it consistently for the past few days (I have had some improvement in my vision in that eye over the past few days as well).
I wonder if I have some kind of debris under the flap, and if so, what is done for that sort of thing? It doesn't bother me a great deal other than the fact that I notice it's there. My flap refloating experience wasn't the most pleasant one and I'm worried that my doctor will want to lift my flap again. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Carrie

Carrie,
Sounds like you may be having the same thing I have... floaters. If this is the case the problem isn't caused by or a function of LASIK, but rather is a common disfunction of the eye. The way it was explained to me the vitrious humor inside the eyes sometimes "clumps" as we get older and the when these clumps or strands drift into our field of view you see them. They are, reletively speaking, harmless and unless they represent a significant interference with your vision, should probably be left alone, as there's no easy way to get rid of them.

What a relief! I went to my surgeon this morning and she said the exact same thing. I appreciate you helping to calm my nerves beforehand as well. :)
