I had my original Lasik procedure 2 years ago. I was severly myopic with a pre lasik prescription of OD -12.50 -1.00 X 155 and OS -13.75 -1.00 X 20. I am seeing 20/25 or so with my right eye. However, my left eye prescription is currently OS +1.50 -2.00 X73 which I understand is mixed astigmatism. My doctor recommended an enhancement which is scheduled for this Friday, Nov 2. My question is whether the Autonomous Ladarvision is the best laser to correct this problem and whether this method is considered "double carding"? Thanks much for any information concerning my situation.

The autonomous laser is FDA approved for treating mixed astigmatism, and double carding would therefore not be necessary. You should try to find out the visual results for the treatment of mixed astigmatism with the autonomous to get an idea of what to expect (that is - find out the percentage of people that improve to 20/40, 20/25 and 20/20. As well, you should carefully discuss the risks and benefits of additional surgery with your own surgeon.

best of luck
