I had Lasik four weeks and a half weeks ago. Last week, I had a four week check-up and read the 20/20 line with both eyes but my left eye is not as crisp or clear (actually read only two letters with my left eye on the 20/20 line due to fuzziness. Right eye was also somewhat fuzzy). I was told not to worry and that it takes at least three months for eyes to totally heal. My prescription in both eyes were very bad with a good amount of astigmatism in both. Apparently, my left eye was somewhat worse in prescription and astigmatism then my right so I am keeping the faith that my left eye will only get better in time. Reading my PC, newspapers, etc. was horrible from day one with my left eye but pretty good with my right but this week things are changing slowly with my left eye as far as reading and I feel good.
Should I be concerned with the healing process? Does it really take up to three months or longer for your eyes to heal? If so, what is meant by "healing"? Is your eye changing over these three months in correcting itself to say 20/20?
Also, I was told that the "crispness" for eyes to achieve may take three to six months?
It is hard to think that one's eye is "healing" since there is no pain or discomfort.
Appreciate your response!

I am happy to hear that you have reached the 20/20 line with your vision. It can take many weeks to months for the eye to stabalize, so patience is helpful - assuming that your doctor has told you that everything is healing on track. Dry eyes is one treatable condition that can cause some blurriness - so that should also be addressed if present.
I hope this helps

Thanks Bill. I have another question. My reading vision is not that good. PC is not great too. Days seem to flucuate. Is this also just part of the healing process?
I was told to wait three months. It's tough but I'll hang in there.
Thanks

Yes - vision can take a while to heal completely and one can experience fluctuations in vision - especially with postop dry eyes.
I hope this helps

Dr. Trattler,
I have been told by my doc that I have very dry eyes and been told to put more lubricant in my eyes. But problem is that my vision is everyday more worse than previous day. Specially from the right eye. I don't know I can't see the words and still very painful. Is there any chance that I can see perfect in the future or I should start using glasses cause my job is computer programming and at least 8-10 hours I have to spend on PC.

There are so many options.
Restasis works great.
Oral Omega 3 fatty acids
punctal plugs
warm compresses.
Just to name a few things.
There are many treatment options - and you should explore them with your doctor
