I had lasik peformed in June 2000. I was told I was a candidate and I believe I was, but I was never told I had a slight astigmatism; Manifest Refraction: OS -375/0.75x110.
Post lasik Manifest Refraction: OS -2.75+ 2.00 x 22 = 20/15
then checked a week later OS -0.5 + 2.5 x 10 = 20/25 +2
I complained of OS eye discomfort from the beginning and was told I had dry eye and tear plugs were inserted, but fell out. I continued to have pain in the left eye and was repeatedly told I had dry eye. I was never told anything about keratoconus or astigmatism or anything but that I had dry eye. I started restasis with some relief, however after moving and getting a new eye doctor I have been fitted with very expensive glasses/ contact lenses because my astigmatism is now 3.5. My pain symptoms are vurtually gone. So, can someone maybe explain how this would not be addressed or should I be upset or am I just one of the statistics and get over it. I feel if I had been told from the beginning I could have been fitted for glasses sooner and decreased the progression of the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
