I am 18 months post-op. My surgeon has recommended an enhancement to try to improve on what he says is laser-induced astigmatism and my 20/25-20/30 vision. He is proposing a flap relift and re-application of the laser. Can a flap be refloated after this length of time, or is it better to re-cut?? Is either approach advisable at all?
Relifting the flap is by far the best option. Cutting the flap again has alot of risk. For example, the new flap might intersect the old flap, and cause a free piece of tissue.
Flaps can reportedly be lifted many years after surgery. So hopefully this will be possible for you.
Best of luck

If the flap is re-lifted, should anything be done to treat the inside surface of it to allow for a better re-fit to the eye surface, such as scraping it to remove tissue that may have regrown, or something like that? Would it not come up with a jagged/rough surface if it is relifted, because it is more or less torn from its seal with the eye?
