I took lasik surgery two weeks ago. My right eye is healing well but the left one is bad.
Every morning when I just woke up, my left eye was very good, even better than the right one, just after a hour, it is blurred. I took the surgery on my two eyes the same day and the pre-prescription was right -4.0D 0.5 astig left:-4.5 no astig. why is there so big difference?
When I was taking the surgery, I found the red light was moving and my eyes followed the red light's moving. Is it normal?
Thank you in advance!
Jim

jim, there is nothing unusual about your history. the first few weeks, it is common to have fluctuation of the vision. are you using medications? things should settle down soon.

I agree that fluctuation is common up to 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. Also, dryness of the eyes can cause severe fluctutions.
You can try using extra tears during the day. Many of my patients have also liked using Genteal Gel (over the counter) at bedtime and wake with much better feeling eyes. The gel is nice because it is not as sticky as the oil-based ointments.
Good Luck, Dean Hu
