I have been told I have pellucid marginal degeneration in a stable mild form. I correct decently with glasses but I would be very motivated to have refractive surgery. I became contact lens intolerant (thats why I went for Lasik last year but was told to wait for stability).
I have been alternatively been told that I may have custom ablation PRK right away with 20/40 approx results in Colombia. Others have told me not to have the operation. Finally, a doctor told me that due to my age (39) it wont progress that much and that wavefront might be a future optimal option.
What do you think?
Thanks

Pellucid marginal degeneration is a condition of the cornea where there is corneal bulging and weakness leading to visual problems. Any type of laser (PRK or LASIK) could potentially weaken the cornea further, and cause you to have even worse vision. Considering surgery at this point would not be wise, as you would be at elevated risk for many different problems, the biggest of which is ectasia.
I hope this helps answer your question
