I have had lasik, including several enhancements, and am very interested in what this new procedure could potentially do for GASH symptoms. Mine are pretty severe, as I use pilo regularly. If anyone has any info, I'd really appreciate it. Hopefully wavefront is worth the wait for all us us. Thanks.

We hope that wavefront will be able to smooth out irregular astigmatism and provide sharper vision in patients who are having problems following their initial LASIK. Coudl you be more specific as far as what the cause of your vision problems are. Are your problems due to:
1. Flap striae
2. Large pupils
3. irregular astigmatism
4. Decentered ablations
5. Central islands
6. Other
Then I can perhaps make some further comments
Best of luck

Dr. Trattler,
Sorry for the long delay. My problems are exclusively due to large pupils (7mm). I use pilo and have recently tried allergan to control the GASH. You know what the limitations of those are. Please let me know if you have any further suggestions regarding future enhancements and/or a different brand of drops to try. Thanks.

Wavefront will theoretically help - but I do not know of any cases that have shown that it does yet - as the results are still very early.
The two main medications to shrink the pupil are alphagan and pilo. Pilo can be mixed up to be 1/4% or 1/8th percent by a compounding pharmacies. Lieter's pharmacy in California will make up any concentration of pilo - but you will need a specific prescription from your doctor.
You have reported some tolerance to alphagan, and that could be due to frequent use. Perhaps using it less often (like just once/day) will help.
Best of luck
