Hello,

I'm 5 months post Epi-Lasik. Has anyone else noticed that their eyes, the conjuctiva, are slightly redder than before their procedure. Why does this happen? Is this related to Dry Eyes? If so, will it clear up when the Dry Eyes resolve? I also see Dry Eyes related ghosting such as a faint image below white or light print on a black or dark background, like the keys on a keyboard, or print on a computer screen or magazine. Blinking makes it go away for only a second or 2. Does this sound familiar to you and will this go away when the Dry Eyes resolve? I thought fewer nerves are cut during surface treatments and therefore would experience less Dry Eye symptoms. Would it still take 6 or more months for nerves and goblet cells to regenerate even for surface treatments so I still have some healing to do or is this permanent? Thanks.

Dry eyes can occur following any type of laser refractive surgery, althought he severity of dry eyes after surface ablation (including epi-LASIK) is less than with LASIK.
Are you on Restasis? Do you have punctal plugs? Are you undergoing any treatment for your ocular redness and possible dry eyes.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to provide your answers, and ask any followup questions
