I had Lasik December 20, 2004 and was 20/20 in both eyes the day after. A week later I was 20/20 (R) and 20/40 (L). I had no problems whatsoever with flap healing. My 3 month visit deteriorated to 1.25 and 1.50. How does that translate into 20/whatever? Also, no dryness to speak of.
They want to do an enhancement to one eye to achieve 20/20 and leave the other eye alone (monovision). I am willing to try this but everything I have read on the web indicates the weaker (close-up vision) eye is around 20/30 or 20/40.
Does anyone have an opinion on my situation.

If you are in the presbyopic age (close to or already needing reading glasses) the recommendation is a good one. You can have a trial with a contact lens on the dominant eye to correct for distance and see how you tolerate being under corrected in the other eye. I do this frequently and for most patients it is a great solution.
Your surgeon should be able to explain this to you better.
