I (48yr/male) had LASIK done in March (5 Months Post Op) and am OVERcorrected in my right eye around +1.5. My left eye is close to plano.
Any suggestions on correcting the overcorrected?
Is it to late to try chemical regression (Acular)?
Is LASIK (B&L/Custom/Zyop) for correcting overcorrection a reasonable alternative?
Is "CK" a possiblitiy - maybe safer then lifting the flap after 6 months?
Thanks in advance for any help on my situation.
David.

Enhancements in general work very nicely, both with under and over-correction. As with any surgery, there are risks.
I would not recommend CK - as it has its own set of risks and is set up to work on virgin eyes. Since your eye has already had LASIK, the resonse to CK may not be normal, and you could have problems. I am not an expert in CK - it is just a concern.
Best of luck

Dr.
One final question (you have a very good reputation). I have anklyosing spondolitis (form of arthritis), I was told since I had no previous eye problems that LASIK should not be a problem. Hard for me to get numbers on others like myself. are you aware of others having LASIK with anklyosing spondolitis, or studies of such.
Thanks again for your time and helping so many others through often difficult times (brought on ourselves).

I have not heard of any problems with LASIK in your condition - but there are no studies that I am aware of. Typically - ankylosing spondylitis does not affect the cornea. It is associated with episodies of inflammation within the eye.
I hope this helps

Doc,
I appreciate your feedback, and will most likely go for an retreatment on my "overcorrected" eye. Should I first try a contact in this eye to make sure that this will correct my vision?
Just a footnote: Noted in one of your other threads that contacts should be out for 2 weeks. My doctor allowed my (Focus Night & Day) to be out for only 6 days before surgery (he did two maps of my eyes - one at 6 days preop...and another at 1 day preop). May be the reason both eyes were overcorrected? Lucky the one that was supposed to be "under" corrected is plano.
thanks again...
