This question is directed for a doctor.
3 months ago, i had lasik performed on my eyes for myopia. It was not a high prescription about -4.25 and -3.00. I also had an oblque astigmatism. the axis in my left eye was about 135 and in my right eye was 40 according to my doctors information. My pupils were about 7mm. I cannot remember the exact amount.
Anyway, I have gone to see my dr. 2x since the surgery was done and told him that I cannot drive at night b/c when the cars in front of me brake, the red light gets very blurry and headlights starburst a lot.
The first time I saw him (1 mos post lasik), he gave me eye drops to use (Alphagan). These drops did not help. If anything, the next day I could not see clearly b/c of them. Last time I saw the dr. he said that he may have to do an enhancement in one eye. Now, I am not quite sure what my vision was last time. 1 month post lasik my vision was 20/26 both eyes and still had a little astigmatism left in my right eye. When I saw him recently, he did not say. He just said to see which eye is worse at night. To me, they are basically the same.
During the daylight, my vision is still clear but I cannot read signs on the road until i get close to them. I am going to say personally, I do not believe that my eyesight has changed much since he told me what it was 20/26.
My question is, if he does an enhancement, will the glare and halos, ghosting get worse? Is it a possiblity that they can get worse? I am very scared to go through with this again. I feel like asking him to give me a prescription for glasses and if those help, I would get the surgery done again.
I am very frustrated and agitated that I cannot drive at night. I live in NY and the days will be getting shorter soon. I need to work full time.
Can you please answer my questions and give me your advice? I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.
