I am roughly 9 weeks Lasik post op. My left eye is blurry at all distances. My right eye is good overall but could be better at long distances.

I scheduled my three month appt. yesterday and when speaking with the opthamologist asked about an enhancement. He said to wait for three months and then if my left eye is still blurry he would consider an enhancement.

My questions: The opthamologist said that an enhancement would be performed after the eye stabilizes.

Does testing tell one when the eye is stabilized?

The opthamologist also stated that an eye is usually stabile between four and six months and he recommends not wait any longer than six months for an enhancement as the flap "would be hard to lift".

I have read that many people wait a year or longer. Should I be concerned? I would rather treat the eye conservatively. Maybe it could still heal after 6 months??

Thoughts? A doctor's opinion would be appreciated as I wait one more month. I am hoping the eye is still healing and everyhting "changes" for the better.

Thanks

Waiting several months is appropriate to see if the eye is still changing. There is no concern about waiting longer than six months as the flap can usually be lifte even years later. There may be some error in comunication. I would recommend a wait of a few months, 3 is usual. If the refraction is stabile, consider enhancement then.
