For an enhancement what is the thickness a cornea should be at at least? Isn't this measured in microns?
What is a range that a doctor would say no to or what is a range that a patient should be concerned with a far as moving forward?
Thanks

Corneal thickness is an important measurement. We as surgeons need to know the preoperative corneal thickness, the postoperative corneal thickness, and the residual stromal bed thickness.
We also need to know your residual refractive error - so we can determine how deep the ablation will be.
If a person has a thin cornea - one can treat on the surface of the cornea rather than treating under the flap.
I hope this helps

The absolute minimum is 250 microns but many doctors like to err at 300 microns to be safe. when/if I get lasik or lasek I will not wanna go below 300 myself. Ive read some reports on ectasia on those with 250-280 microns cornea and this concerns me more than a little undercorrected myopia, which isnt a bad thing either for presbyopia.
