Hi,
I posted the question re wavefront enhancement 8 months after conventional LASIK. A further question is: I have been diagnosed with blepharitis and have had punctual plugs put in for dryness. Is it advisable to do the enhancement in these conditions? I am concerned about waiting any longer as then it may not be possible to lift the original flap?
Prompt replies would be greatly appreciated as I am provisionally booked in for Wednesday.
Many thanks,
Steve

There is usually no rush to have an enhancement as the flap can usually be lifted for many months and even years.

Dr. Friedman is absolutely correct that there is no medical reason to rush to enhancement, but you need to check with your doctor about his/her policy regarding how long enhancements would be covered as a part of the original fee. There may be a financial clock ticking.

Lifting the flap will "reset" the healing process. It is reasonable to expect that any LASIK induced temporary dry eyes you experienced the first time around will be experienced the second time around.
