2 months after the LASIK surgery, my vision is 20/40 on my right eye, 20/30 on my left eye. My vision is bad (worse than I was with my glasses before the surgery), although I had the wavefront technology that was supposed to have higher percentage on better visual outcome (I read the booklet about "zyoptic", which it claims to have 90% 20/20 success rate). My doc told me that the reason for my visual problem is likely because of the tiny
microstriae in my left eye, and some "lacqer's crack" on my right
eye, which he claimed, were common side effects caused by LASIK and required no treatment. I am very concerned about the competency of my doc, because he doesn't seem to be certain in terms of how to slove my vision problem. He said, "sometimes, we just don't have an explaination to everything".
Moreover, when I asked if he can give me glasses for driving. He said that glasses were not going to help me see any better, because the "refraction" yielded no change in vision. He said I should just wait patiently, and I would see better as a matter of time. However, he did not know how long it would take. what should I do? how can I know if I should trust what he said? He had me signed all those legal forms before the surgery, which pretty much covered all the surgeon's bases in terms of complications and bad results. One of those states that I could lose some of my best corrected vision, although rarely. What are the odds that it is happening in both of my eyes? I'm very upset and angry. I just want to know that I am not being taken advantage of my lack of medical knowledge.
How long can I wait to seek a 2nd opinion? I have some finacial isuues currently. I'll not be able to afford a specialist visit right now. Since I don't have any knowledge on this matter, I'm wondering if the microstriae be avoided? Is surgery an option to solve the striae? The doc told me that it was merely an unforseen complication that can happen to everybody. What's the point of getting LASIK if I know I need to wear glasses or contacts again???? and I didn't even have the high prescription to start with.

Please get a second opinion.
Read comments on flap striae on this website and others. Most experts recommend early intervention - especially if there is a drop in the best-corrected vision.
The only doctor that I know of in Sacremento is Dave Edmiston. His contact info is:
601 University Avenue, Suite 108, Sacramento -
I hope this helps
