Following my girlfriends laser surgery last week (2/23/05) flap wrinkles have developed and her sight is very blurry in her right eye.
The surgeon has stated that following the surgery her cornea is too thin to allow him to lift the flap and smooth out the wrinkles.
He has said there is nothing he can do and she will never see clearly through this eye.

Have we got any alternatives?

you need another opinion. it is not true that the flap cannot be lifted and stretched unless there was a buttonhole in the flap. the residual bed has nothing to do with a flap lift and stretch, only has to do with whether it is safe to remove more tissue.

DEFINITELY get a second opinion. What kind of BS is that telling a patient to live with something like that after paying $4K+ for a 30 minute surgery.

I noticed that she got lasik back in Feburary! I sure hope she had her flap lifted and smoothened long ago! This doctor sounds incompentent if he thinks lifting the flap makes the cornea bed thinner!
