With all the problems I've had, it seems like I o post a question in every area. I appreciate all of the responses.
This one is on startbursts. I know that that can be several causes for starbursts but in my case I get them from headlights in the day time (not real bad) and at night. The interesting point is when I look at a light, with one eye at a time, my left eye has starbursts only to the left of the light and the right eye only to the right of it. Would this indicate that the starbursts are related to bad flaps? Are the flaps typically cut from the outside in towards the nose?
Thanks,
Mike

i believe in the early days the did do the flap that way. from what i understand with the "up down" method there are less complications, because the flap is aligned with normal eyelid movement.
I would say that there is a 50-50 split for flap orientations - with 50% up and down and 50% horizontal. The major flaw with the up and down flap is that it causes more dry eye compared to the horizontal flap.
Best of luck
