I have Lasik 10 days ago. [left -2.75 sph, -2.50 cyl (165deg). right -2.75 sph, -2.00 cyl (180 deg)]. Since surgery, I feel that
my right eye does not function as well as my left eye. At 1 wk post op, I see 20/25 with my left and 20/30 with my right eye.
The quality and acuity of my vision is better with my left, which is odd because I have more astigmatism on my left eye
pre-surgery.
With my right eye, I see a slight shadow on the bottom of any object day or night. I'm not sure if this is glare or ghost or
double vision. At night, with my right eye, I see glare surrounding any source of light. The size of the glare does not bother
me, but the glare is longer on the bottom part! At night seeing with both eyes, I see double vision when it comes to traffic
lights- I see two red lights when it is at a distance of 10 meters or more. As I approach the redlight and come to a stop,
these two images started to converge, but it's still not a perfect round red light, it is more like 2 red lights with 80%
overlapping each other, the remaining 20% on top left, another 20% on bottom right. Is this part of healing? Will my
"uneven" glare and double vision eventually go away? How long should I wait until my vision reach the quality it was before
surgery with glasses? (I see a clear 20/20 with glasses before surgery)
During 1-wk postop, I was tested with one of those automated machine which printed -1.25 on my left and -1.50 on my right.
This reading seems horrible since I am seeing 20/25 and 20/30. Is this reading reliable? How does 20/something relates to
diopters?
My surgeon assured me that everything is normal and will get better, but I know something's not right with my right eye. I
appreciate if an MD can answer my questions.

I had lasik 4 years ago for severe myopia. My left eye now has dim vision and my right eye has ghosting or double image. Both eyes have a little residual myopia. I found out from trial and error that by adding negative power to my right eye, it can eliminate double image under bright lilght condition, such as on a bright sunny day. But, as yet, no optometrist knows how to improve dim vision so I can see better on my left eye.
Where can I get a proper refraction exam by someone who knows about post-lasik complications?

Having had surgery 4 years ago for severe myopia - I wonder whether the cause of your visual problems has been the same or has there been changes over time.
The one test that works very well is called Wavefront. Wavefront measures the aberrations of your eye - and would be able to determine why you are having problems. As well, it can potentially help you understand what your future treatment options are.
Consider calling Dr. Jim Salz, who I believe has the wavefront testing devices. His office info is:
