I had surgery 1 week ago. I have halos that are not too bad. Problem is that my starburst are rainbow colored. I have not seen anyone else mention that. What is it? Will it go away?

I have never heard of that. I would certainly think that you need to see your surgeon and have your surgeon figure out what is going on.

they say it is nothing to worry about. Should I get second opinion? (my Doc is Filutowski in Orlando)?

I wish I could suggest something. I have not heard of this. I would just have your surgeon reexamine you.
Best of luck

I, too, have rainbow starburts or what I have been calling "a prism effect". In other words, I see the entire color spectrum in every single ray of huge starbursts - I get this even from candlelight or light reflected off of metal.
Since your original message was over a year ago, I am hoping that you may be able to offer me some hope...did it ever get better? How long did it take? Did you ever learn more about the cause or what can be done to help? In addition to the huge starbursts, I also have severe halos and glare. I can no longer drive at night and even get headaches just from being in a car at night. I am 3 weeks post-Lasik with a very reputable and skilled surgeon.
Hope you can offer some hope as I am really scared at this point. I am in my early 40s and have 3 children, so I have to get my ability to drive back!

Kathleen,
I have a similar problem after 3 weeks. In case you're still reading, did this ever get better?
Thanks,
Doug
