I am thinking of getting the Lasik procedure done. My vision loss is -2.75 for both eyes. My prescription is as follows:
sphere: -2.5 for both eyes
Cylinder: -.5 for the right -.25 for the left
Axis: 175 for both eyes
My concern is whether I should get intacs instead. The fact that intacs can be removed makes it so appealing, but I don't know which procedure would be best for me. Which procedure would you recommend for me?
Thanks.
As you may know, Keravision (which makes intacs) is now bankrupt and out of business. Although some surgeons may have a few extra intacs available, if there are problems, the company itself is out of business.
There are some excellent surgeons to see about LASIK in your area. Dr. Jack Holiday is very well known (http://www.Docholiday.com)
As well, Dr. Joel Goffman will occasionally help out and answer questions on this site (he is also from Houston).
You should talk to your surgeon and discuss the risks of LASIK surgery with them (versus intacs)
Best of luck

I believe intacts is the better, safer choice, so what if the company is out of business, intacts exist and they can still be made. If you dont like lasik, you are out of luck, if you dont like intacs, they simply can be removed
