Hi,
I have very strong myopia in both eyes, -6.50 and -7.00. I have no astigmatism. I have been seriously thinking about whether or not to have Lasik done for the past couple of years. I recently heard about Intacts and have been researching it. My question is will the power correctable by Intacs be increasing anytime soon or would Lasik be a better option with such a strong perscription?
Thank You!
Kim
Intacs willnever be an option. The company that made intacs is bankrupt, so they can not work to expand the level of effects of intacs. So far studies have found that intacs can correct only a few diopters of myopia - far less than what you have mentioned.
I hope this helps

I have done some research on that and its only been approven to correct up to -3 but I heard trials being tested for -4.5 but they say results are kinda inconsisant past -3, I guess them being thicker than .35mm(which is -3) is too much for the cornea to handle or it gets lifted up too much, who knows. You could try intacts but youll still be -3.5 resulting in having a hard time seeing just the E on the snellen chart. Lasik might be your better option, frankly but be aware of the risks and make sure you are a great candidate.
