my mom got the records of the pescription of glasses im wearing now and its 4.75 in left eye, 5.00 in right eye with agstigmigistim of .50 in both eyes I believe. I doubt the pescription changed more than .25 to .50 in the last year, after all, its been stable for 3 years save for a .25 increase, no reason it should change much. No matter, with the eye exercises im doing, I hope to shave off at least -1.5 after a couple months. I actually do want intacts sooner than later and ill let the eye exercises further refine my vision. I am 20/400 with about -5 and -.5 agstigmigistim, my moms -7.25 and -1 agstigmigistim and 20/800(can see the E from just 5 feet ) so I expect to be a huge difference with a combo of intacts(currently up to -3 and -1 for agstigmigistim but I hear to -4.50 is in the works) and eye exercise, most likley getting me 20/40 needed to drive

ill be about -2 remaining myopia and 0 agstigmigistim after intacts, this should correlate to perhaps 20/70 then with eye exercises I should easily get to 20/40 or 20/30 and even if *somehow* I dont achieve 20/40 ill just need very thin glasses just for driving and special occasions. intacts have less "requirements" are farrrrrrrrr safer and can be removed without permaent changes for any reasons, even including getting lasik in the future. Let me link you to info about intacts and I think its a great option for those low myopes(I am borderline low, but can live with a little less than "perfect" 20/20)

I see intacts dont seem to be terriably popular, seems like everyone wants the laser, that and the origional company that made intacts is out of business. However lasik is permaent, intacts for the most part is 100% reversable and itll leave my options open when/if I ever go lasik. right now I see 20/40 with my current glasses, 20/20 is very rare among glasses wearers

I have done alot of reading about intacs and it seems like my pupils may be too large. I estimate mine to be 8mm+ maybe even 9mm! Is there anything that can be done for such huge pupils without destroying too much night vision? I am also -5.5(left)-5(right) but I think its a little better than that now. Ill probably be 20/100 after intacs which is a whole lot better than the 20/600 im now.

You are too near-sighted for intacs. Plugs big pupils can be an issue for Intacs.

So what other options do I have? Are people with really large pupils just out of luck with todays technology and must stick to glasses? I read that your pupil dilates less as you get older. However it will be a moot point as presbyopia sets in and ill just trade minus lenses for plus. Maybe by then they will invent something to reduce presbyopia such as 2nd generation accomodating aphakic intraoccular lense
