I am 52 years old. I had presurgery vision of about 20/400 each eye. I used contact for monovision for several years prior to Lasik.
-6.00 and -6.50. I had lasik on 10/99 corrected to about 20/40 in each eye. I was enhanced on 1/5/00 and now have 20/20 in right and about 20/40 on the left. I cannot read the letters clearly on the eye chart with the left. So far I think it is OK. I do have some problem reading at night ie a novel and would like to know if I should have glasses made to correct the right for reading only. Also is this a recommended approach for someone my age? Are people generally happy with this outcome and what can I
expect as I get older? Thank you- Bruce

It sounds like you have monovision, with one eye corrected to 20/20 for distance and the other eye corrected for near. If you are comfortable with this set up, there are many advantages - such as being able to both drive a car and use the computer without glasses. However, most people will still need glasses for reading.
In general, the LASIK results will stabalize 3-6 months after surgery. It is important to continue working with your doctor as you recover
Best of luck
