First off, I apoligize for not having my exact prescriptions but I'll try.
(male, age 20)
I had Lasik on a Visx (2 I believe) on December 1st. I was originally around -8.5 Left and -8.25 right with slight astigmatism. 1 Day post-op I was somewhat dissapointed when I could barely see the E on the wall. I was about 20-150 both eyes. 1 week post off about 20-100 both eyes.
I noticed my vision regressed a bit by Christmas (more in my right eye) at week 3. Well it seems pretty stable lately, but I got tested yesterday 6 weeks post up. and am -3.5 in my right eye and about -3 in my left with slight astigmatism.
I have thick corneas so the OD said I should be fine for an enhancement in a few months as long as I stay stable. Everything else checked out great, Healing, All Glares and Halo's are gone and the dryness is mostly gone! But I was curious how many people in this range require two procedures to get good results? Is this normal? I have been dependant on glasses/contacts since day 1. uggh. Thanks for your advice.
Chris
Having 8 diopters of myopia puts you at risk for needing an enhancment - although ending up 3 diopters under is very uncommon. Fortunately, and enhancement usually works well. Just make sure you talk with your surgeon about the risks of enhancements, as just as there were risks with the original surgery, there are similar risks of infection, inflammation, and flap slippage, etc.
Best of luck

Hi Chris, I have just seen your message and my myopia was -9.00 and -8.50. I had surgery on the left eye on 11th May and the following week was -3.00 at the check up, that afternoon was reoperated on and am -0.75. The vision is still fuzzy as it is early days. The right eye was operated the following week. Zoe
