I was a -8.25 in both before lasik. Immediately post opt I was 20/20 with only a -.25 in my left eye. have now regressed to -1.00 in both eyes. Ia m two months post opt. Are my eyes more likely to continue regresing or will they stabalize. I am not eligble for an enhancement because of my corneal thickness.
Also, will I be able to use contacts if my eyes regress further?

Typically - it takes between 4-6 months for an eye to stabalize after LASIK - especially when someome starts off with more than 6 diopters of myopia. So you need to be patient and see where you end up. Hopefully you will stabalize or even improve slightly. If not - you can wear contact lenses.
In the future (the next 1-2 years), I expect more doctors will be performing surface laser to enhance patients with lasik who do not have enough corneal thickness. Since your doctor may not feel comfortable performing this due to the potential risk of corneal haze, I would suggest that you request that your doctor know that in the future you would like an enhancement once the technology catches up with your situation.
I hope this helps

I had Lasik surgery on Jan 14th.My prescription pre-op was -8 and -9.Day after surgery, one eye was nearly 20/20 and the other could not show a correct reading as the lens was scrope. But this dropped to -1.5 and -2 a week later. On my last appointment at the clinic on the 17th Feb,my sight is now at -2.25 and -2.5.I have not been given any indication why its regressing so quickly.I am really worried,is it possible it may improve over the next few months,or is it more likely to get even worse.Could i eventually find myself back at -8 and -9 again.I also use quite a lot of drops for my dry eyes, but it seems to be under control.I would be very grateful for any feedback and advice.Thanks.
