I had Lasik surgery on Jan 14th.My prescription pre-op was -8 and -9.Day after surgery, one eye was nearly 20/20 and the other could not show a correct reading as the lens was scrope. But this dropped to -1.5 and -2 a week later. On my last appointment at the clinic on the 17th Feb,my sight is now at -2.25 and -2.5.I have not been given any indication why its regressing so quickly.I am really worried,is it possible it may improve over the next few months,or is it more likely to get even worse.Could i eventually find myself back at -8 and -9 again.I also use quite a lot of drops for my dry eyes, but it seems to be under control.I would be very grateful for any feedback and advice.Thanks.

The risk of regression is highest in patients with high degrees of myopia preop like yourself. Typically things will stabalize after a while - it is very unlikely (in fact I have never heard of this happenning) for you to regress even half way back - but of course anything is possible.
The key issue is to wait until things are very, very stable before considering any additional treatment.
Best of luck

Went for a checkup today and my eyes are now at -2.5 and -3,eyes are not dry,so why are they still regressing? Its only been 2 months and they have deteriorated very quickly. Was told to go back in 4 months when they have stabilized.

You need to obtain a second opinion from an opthamologist (MD). Your post didn't specify if you've seen an optometrist vs an MD. Regression of this magnitude early on can occur b/c of undercorrection or it could be something more serious such as corneal ectasia. Again, we don't have much information regarding your numbers etc.
You would be best served by an objective second opinion from a medical doctor. If you get the same opinion then as the old saying goes.."time heals..."
Good luck and take care.

The operating surgeon checked my eyes, everything else is healthy apart from the shortsightednes. He would not give a straight answer of the cause,if he knew at all.But mentioned refractive error,[so is that an undercorrection by the machine or the surgeon?]the unpredictability of the effect on the eyes, and the way people heal differently and the fact that all of this is in the consent form.So where does that leave me?
