I am 23 years old. my eye power is about -12. I was thinking to do a LASIK operation. but after consukting an eye specialist, he said that i cannot do this operation because my cornea is very thin about (470 um), and he recommend me to do phakic IOL surgury to correct my eye vision. I need to know more about this surgury, and whether you recommend me to do it or do the LASIK in my condition. Thank you.

for a person with 12 diopters of myopia and thin corneas - LASIK is not a good option. A phakic IOL works well, but of course has risks. Please discuss the risks vs benefits of phakic IOLs with your surgeon.
I hope this helps

Thank you for you prompt reply.
One of the doctors i visited sayed the he can treat my eye with laser. He said that he can use the laser to correct my eye vision, directly without cutting my cornea (as is done in normal laisak). And he said that this is a successful procedure, and he has performed it many times for different people, and it suits my thin cornea and my high power. Do you recommend going for such procedure?
Thanks;
