There is research in progress on the intraocular lens. The surgery seems like it should be even simpler than the cataract surgery in which the human lens is removed and an artificial one is implanted. This surgery also corrects vision problems. My mother had this surgery done, and it took only about 15-20 minutes per eye. My vision is about -6 diopters in each eye. Should I wait anather 2 years for the intraocular lens or would I be more likely to get a good outcome with Lasic surgery.

intrzocular surgery has many risks, some of which are more devastating than those after lasik- for instance gluacoma, retinal detachment and severe infection leading to blindness. the exact risk of these complications is not yet known, but cataract surgery is traditionally only performed when the vision is so decreased that this surgery is the only way to improve the vision. i would not enter into this kind of surgery electively, unless i was really desperate!
your correction is very easily corrected with lasik, and in my mind, with much less risk.
