I have heard that implantable contacts might be the next phase in vision correction. Has anyone heard about this, and if so, could it potentially be competition for Lasik? I imagine one advantage might be that it won't require changing the actual shape of the cornea. Anyone with any info??

There are 3 companies that are currently working on this procedure. These companies each have implantable lenses that are undergoing FDA evaluation. It is expected that these lenses may become available in 2-3 years if their adverse affects are minimal.
We will continue discussing this subject at AskLasikDocs.com over the next year as new information becomes available
