I recently had Lasik and was told that I should not become pregnant within 6 months after having the procedure. Why is this? What do the two have to do with each other? What would happen if someone who was pregnant had Lasik - is there any risk to the pregnancy?

There is no risk to your child after LASIK. However, there have been reports of people with perfect LASIK results who had late vision changes (they became more near-sighted) after they became pregnant.
I can say that I performed LASIK on 2 of my employees who became pregnant weeks after their surgery (despite my warnings). They both did great without any vision changes (they are both 20/20
Hope this helps
