I have been suffering from pink eye since last summer. I had been wearing contact lenses for 10 years before I have pink eyes on both eyes. Can I be a good candidate for a LASIK?

It might be a good idea to see your doctor so he can give you eyedrops to clear your infection. Dont wear contacts durning this time or you can reinfect.

Pink eye refers to a viral infection of the eye. It is not typically chronic.
The common causes of chronically red eyes in contact lenses are either ocualar allergies, dry eyes, or both.
Please see your doctor.

best of luck

I have seen 3 different doctors to clear it. It healed temporary, however, I got the pink eye over and over again. My doctors said that they could only give me eye drops to reduce the itch. He prescribed "Patanol". After wearing contact lenses, I had to use it because of the night itch. And then I had to wear glasses. I am so sick of wearing glasses! What should I do? Do you know a good doctor for this problem in NYC?

Have you seen a dermatologist? I thought I was getting pink eye over and over again and decided to get Lasik because it was such a pain with my contacts. My Dr had me go see a Dermatologist before he would do the surgery and it turns out I have ocular rosacea. Knowing that, I've been avoiding contacts and using Restasis to prep my eyes for surgery this week.
