I am 31 years old and scheduled to have Intralase on Friday. I don't exactly how to interpret this but during my initial consultation the following prescription was written down OD -4.51-.39 OS -4.01-.035. The counselor who did my initial consulation told me I was a good candidate and that I would probably get good results with either the custom or conventional. But now I am reconsidering. Is this worth the extra $800 to get the custom? Thanks in advance for your guidance!

you are -4 and -4.5 which is moderate myopia and corresponds to 20/300 if you correct to 20/20 or 20/25. Wavefront is usually better, but if your doctor disagrees, ask why and get a 2nd opinion also. By the way, just wondering why you seek lasik. Whats your expectations and are you aware of all risks

I got the custom lasik, but not the intralase, and am very happy with the results.

Custom treatments provide better visual results and better night vision quality. So without a doubt - I would recommend custom.
