I recently had a consultation for the lasik procedure, only to find out that my pupils, when dialated where almost too big. They recommended that I wait until new technology comes out for people with large pupils. The man doing my consultation said that they where right on the border of being to large. He indicated that it could be caused by my meedication, (paxil).
Do you have any idea about any new technology for large pupils or do you have an idea of about how long until they do come out with some?
Thanks

First of all - I am happy to hear that your surgeon turned you down. Extremely large pupils can impact the results of patients with LASIK - especially for patients with high degrees of refractive error. The key is that if you developed problems due to your large pupils - there is little that can be done to fix your situation except for the use of pupil-constricting eye drops. In the future - we hope that the lasers will work better on patients with very large pupils and high degrees of refractive error.
I hope this helps.
