I went to one dr who said that he recommends treating my rk eye with something a little different than lasik. He had a name for it but I don't know it. Anyway, he said I should look at having the laser correct the cornea area without taking the flap up as in regular lasik. Can you tell me anything about this?

My guess is that your doctor is referring to LASEK or PRK - 2 types of surface ablation procedures. Both procedures work by treating the front part of the cornea, and do not require a machine (called a microkeratome) to create a flap.
I personally feel that both PRK and LASEK are better options for patients with previous RK - as maing a deep incision in the cornea with the microkeratome blade can lead to DLK, epithelial ingrowth, and flap problems.
The medical literature shows that both PRK and LASIK have a lower chance of obtaining 20/20 vision in patients with previous RK compared to patients without RK. As well, the chance of a problem with surgery is higher according to many scientific reports as compared to a person without a history of RK. But saying this, in general most patients will do well. Just please talk with your surgeon in detail regarding the options.

Best of luck
