Help, I've had lasix on both my eyes with monovision. I had this in July 2003 and have found it hard to see objects in the distance clearly. My Left eye still hurts and seems to be experiencing spasms. Have you ever heard of this happening? What would be the suggestion to take care of this problem. Would having the eye redone make a difference? Should I have both eyes converted to just distance and wear reading glasses? I need help before I have surgery again on 11/11.

You need to see your doctor and figure out what is going on. Monovision requires that both eyes are seeing great. If your distance eye is off, you will be unhappy. You may need a correction in your distance eye.
As well, pains can be caused by dry eye - so see your doctor.
Finally - test out the possibilities with contact lenses. Your doctor should help you test out (demo) what life would be with a change in your prescription - and contacts work the best to demo the expected result.

Thank you for your answer. I did try the contact test by wearing 1 contact. When I met with my Dr. we discussed the problem with the monovision and converted both eyes for distance. I now have to wear reading glasses for work, which is what I was trying to get away from. I still experience problems with the left eye where it feels as if the lense folds, but according to my Dr. he says that it healed beautifully. I don't know how long I should wait or should I go back before the two months check. I also read in one of the forums about using normal saline. I forgot my drops the other day so I used regular normal saline the type used in the hospital in my eyes and they felt better. Is this type of saline different than the drops in the store. Also, I have found a preservative free drop that is a gel and when I use it at night, in the moring my eyes are not as dry. Is this okay to be using at this time?
