In June I had Lasik surgery on my left eye. During the procedure a scratch on the eye occurred. The scratch healed, however wrinkling occured. About 6 six weeks later, the doctor raised the flap to have it refloated. Wrinkles were there again in the line of vision. About two and a half months later I had it refloated again. The wrinkles were once again present. My cornea is very thin and was told this is why the wrinkles keep occuring. The doctor now wants to suture my eye. Tell me if this works. My vision is still very bad and I cannot drive or read or do day to day activities without the assistance of my glasses so I can see out of my other eye to make it through the day. PRK was suggested on the right eye, however, I would like to know if the same will occur. I cannot have anything done with the right eye until I can see out of the left eye.

For flap wrinkles that are still present despite Flap lifts and smoothing - flap suturing appears to be an effective method for elimianting the flap wrinkles and improving vision. Dr. Mark Speaker of Manhattan reported on 26 cases of flap suturing - he found that flap suturing was very effective at elimianting flap wrinkles and restoring/improving vision.
I hope this helps
