Hello,
I had the LASIK procedure performed on 7/00, starting with my left eye at 9.0, 2.5 astigmatism and the right eye at 8.0, 2.5 astigmatism. After the surgery, I was seeing 20/30 in my left eye and 20/40 in my right eye. As my right eye healed, I began to see a ghost image. The doctor that performed the surgery said to just give it time and it will heal. I waited 2 months with no results recieving the same advice from my doctor. Seeking another opinion, a doctor told me that it was the micro striae that was causing the double image and recommended ironing out the flap ASAP. I decided to get one more opinion, diagnosed as irregular astigmatism that was causing the ghost image. he recommended waiting for new laser technology to correct the double vision and wearing a contact lens as a temporary fix.

I decided to have the flap lifted by another doctor and ironed out which seemed successful in removing about 70% of the striae. This did help clear the image in my right eye, but the ghost image was still present. The doctor feels very confident that lifting the flap again will remove the ghost image.

I'm not very confident that this will fix the ghosting problem. Any suggestions on the path I should take?

Now that you had most of your wrinkles removed, you may want to get another round of opinions. Where do you live - perhaps I can mention someone in your area.
I wish I pesonally could answer more, but I would need to perfrom a through exam to determine which course would be best in my opinion

Best of luck

I am living in Charleston, SC. Do you know of any specialist in the area?

I heard that Dr. Rapuano in Philidelphia specializes in complications and was consdering visiting him for another opinion.

Thanks
