I had lasik done 3 weeks ago and was told by my doctor that I have a few striae on my left eye. My vision is very compromised in the left eye and I'm scared that it will always be this way. Will the striae go away on their own or should something be done about it? Also, what are the possible outcomes if the striae are not removed?

Striae do not improve on their own. Why has your doctor now fixed the striae. The longer a doctor waits to fix striae, the more difficult it becomes to remove the striae.
I will be happy to answer further questions. Please tell more of your story, and in particular what your doctor said about the striae.
Thank you

My Dr. told me that he noticed a few micro-striae on my left eye, but they were not in my line of vision. Whan I complained that my vision was very blurry in that eye, even when reading, he replied that I may just be more "visually dependent" than most people. I am baffled at what this means. Anyway, he told me that everything looked great. I'm not sure why he isn't removing the striae--I think he got his money and now is treating me like he couldn't be bothered. He's been very condescending to the fact that he just does not believe me when I tell him my vision is compromised. I wish he could have a look through my eyes. I almost think he's trying to push me away so that I'll seek help elsewhere, then he won't be responsible.

Jack,
You need another doctor. His comment that you may be "more visually dependent" is very disturbing. Go elsewhere and get the striae removed and then send him the bill.
