On Friday I'm going in to my doctor to have my left eye flap lifted and stretched to remove wrinkles in it. We were hoping they'd work themselves out, but apparently they didn't. I can see around 20/40 or 20/50 however, when the doctor does the test with the lenses, it doesn't clear up the blurriness or the contrast problems. Looking through the pinholes does help some. I had the same flap lifted and stretched the day after the surgery. The doctor says he's going to be more aggressive this time (he said that last time too). My question is, is there anything I should know and talk to him about before he does this? Do I have any hope of getting the wrinkles out or should I not even try. Thanks in advance.

If wrinkles are affecting your vision, you may need flap sutures to remove them. This is because a simple flap stretch will generally not be effective for flap wrinnkles that are 11 months old. Even adding hypotonic saline and epithelial debridement techniques will generally not be enough.
You may want to get a second opinion before surgery to get a few opinions for the best method to help your vision. Again - with wrinkles present for 11 months, flap stretching alone generally is not enough.
I hope this helps
Best of luck

I had wrinkles for about 7 months. I don't think they don't go away by themselves. I had mine lifted and sutured twice. The first time for 3 weeks. Not long enough. The second time for several months. 7 sutures. Don't take them out until they loosen on their own. The doctor will look in your eyes and remove them as they loosen.
They don't all loosen at the same time. So plan on going back a few times before all the sutures are loosened and removed. My wrinkles seem to be gone this time. One month suture free.
