Hello.

I have an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Vernamonti from TLC in Mt. Laurel NJ this week. Does anyone have any information on this doctor.

I am more than a little nervous and I figured some information about him, prior to our meeitng, would help ease my nerves just a bit.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your question. I hope some people will be able to make some comments on your potential doctor.
A few thoughts.

You are considering LASIK surgery I assume. If so, besides seeing a screening doctor (Dr. Vernamonti), you should also ask to be seen and examined by the actual surgeon. According to the TLC website, this would be Dr. Blecher. However, I also notice from the website that they list 3 other surgeons, so whoever will actually be performing your surgery should actually examine your eyes before surgery.
You may ask why this is important? In actuality, the LASIK surgeon has the both the medical and legal responsibility to examine your eyes personally prior to surgery. Certain laser centers may try to convince you that the surgeon does not need to see and examine your eyes prior to surgery. However, as a patient, you should ask to not only meet the surgeon in advance of the surgery, but you should ask the surgeon to carefully examine your eyes to make sure that you are a good candidate for surgery.
These are my personal thoughts on this subject. You may want to find out who your surgeon will be, and research that doctor, since he or she will be the one who will actually be operating on your eye.

Best of luck
