Like many people here, I am considering LASIK. I am looking to have Dr. Tylock do the procedure in Irving Texas. Does anyone have any information on him? Also, I have a somewhat special situation in that I live in the Central Pacific and only spend a month in that states a year. Is it still possible for me to have LASIK? One more thing, I have read that some eye procedures fail at high alititudes (14000+). Is LASIK one of these procedures? Thanks for your help

To answer your first question - I am biased. Dr. Jim McCulley from Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas was my professor who taught me LASIK. He has taught dozens of ophthalmologists and is the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology. He is an excellent surgeon, and I would recomend him in Dallas ().
If you have a great result, 4 weeks is a perfect amount of time to be in the U.S. However, if you are under or over-corrected, or have some type of eye problem, you may need more than one month follow-up. Fortunately, these problems are uncommon, but they certainly could occur.
Lastly, a number of LASIK patiets have travelled to high elevations to prove that LASIK does not predispose the eye to problems in high elevations as R.K. did. I have not heard of a formal study to prove this.
i hope this is helpful information. Please let us know how your LASIK turns out
