I'm 50, and I've had my first tests at a LASIK
center. I'm wearing contacts to see if monovision
will work. Alas, the prescriptions are not quite
right and I'm not sure if I'm getting full effect.
My right eye is -5.75 / -0.75 / 3 degrees, my
left is -2.25 / -1.00 / 27 degreees. I now wear
progressive trifocal glasses. I play sports, read
a lot, and use a computer a lot.
The right eye has always been VERY dominant.
Am I right in thinking that this may make me a
GOOD candidate for monovision because I have no
depth perception to los

You should continue to play around with the contact lens prescriptions until you are happy with the monovision. Some people can end up preferring their non-dominant eye for distance, although this is uncommon.
Since LASIK is more or less permanent, you want to be very sure ofyour target prescription prior to having the surgery.
