I had lasik on 7-99 and am now about 20/40 in the left eye and 20/25 in the right (dominant) eye. I am 47 and my objective was to stay out of glasses/contacts as long as possible. I now have reasonable vision, but miss the sharpness that I had with my glasses. Is it too long to change to distance vision this much later? I have very dry eyes and did not heal as fast as many other people did after my lasik. I am also nervous about doing it again, since I did not consider this prodedue as easy as many people do. I had it done at TLC in Billings, MT. Please give me your opinions as to what is reasonable expectations for an enhancement this late in the game. Lyn

Are you having difficulty with your vision all the
time or is it only for certain tasks for example
driving? If it is only sometime you might
consider glasses for that to avoid the additional
risk of enhancement.

What is the reasonable time for an enhancement? Is 10 months too long?

I had monovision too. I only had my right (dominant eye) done. My vision is pretty sharp (my left eye doesn't seem to interfere with my distance vision, maybe only slightly). Maybe that's because my left eye sees small print & the computer, but is blurry beyond that. I can barely make out the 20-100 line (very distorted) with that eye. Maybe your reading eye is too corrected. I really don't know much about it, but I do know if you fix your left eye for distance, books & the computer will be very blurry. Since my job is reading stuff & the computer, I would hate it.
