I had Lasik (Monovision) done on 7-28-99. My correction (I am not sure of these numbers, but am reading them off of my contact lens case)was:
8.9
-3.5
170
14.5 for the L eye. The right eye was very similiar. The first 3 days I had terrible visions to the point that I was in a panic. On the 4th day it got much better, however, now my R eye is perfect and the left is always a little blurry. I know this is how monovision is done but will it get easier to see distances. Right now, I feel like the R eye is fine, the L is blurry and the two don't want to work together. Should I consider enhancement when it is feasible or what. Also, when will the halo or starbursts go away when I am night driving. They are getting better but how long does it take? What is the recommendation out there regarding monovision. I am 46 y/o female and am having regrets about doing the monovision. Is it a good idea to start there and then go for the distance if mono does not work? Do the enhancements have and extra risk since the flap is being raised again? Thank you!

First of all it is much too early to get excited
about your vision. Things will improve in the
next few weeks. You have not told us what your
post operative refraction is. How much
undercorrection did you get for your left eye.
Yes there is risk in lifting the flap so don't be
in a hurry. If you adapt to monovision you will
be able to read without glasses. Before you
consider enhancement try correcting the left eye
with a contact lens to see if you will be happy
wearing reading glasses. Don't compare the vision
in the two eyes but try and ignore the difference
and you will probably adapt more quickly.
Checking your vision frequently is like checking
to see if you feel your shirt collar. After a
while you will drive yourself crazy.
