"Night vision improvement?" Posted by Martin on 10:56:11 12/27/99

I had monovision Lasik performed in August & September 1998. I have relented to having bad night vision due to a lack of asphericty. I would not consider driving at night on a road I did not know intimately. Are there any suggestions out there on any vitamins or supplements I could take that might improve night vision?
This sight is looking fantastic and I am hopeful it will be the source of answers to other questions I have. I am very impressed with the knowledge of the participants. I am embarrased to say I do not know my residual prescription. I was very nearsighted to begin with and am still dependent upon glasses for all day to day activities. I can make coffee and shower & dress in the morning, but would not consider anything else without my glasses. I can read up close without glasses, but I could also do that before.
I was initially under the impression i would be going for enhancements in the months following my inital surgery, but the surgeon suggested this was about as good as I was going to get. I'll continue to search through this site to see what I may learn. Thanks - Marty

The most important step you should take is to make sure your eye glass prescription is optomized. You can also consider wearing a contact lens. Either way, correcting your vision fully will help with your night time vision.
I hope this answer is helpful
