HI
my lasik surgery was performed feb 4, 2000. we were aiming for monovision about a -1 step. however I healed to 20-20. while this is extremely wonderful, I am now needing reading glasses for certain types of print. I tried monovision contact before surgery and was happy with the results. now that my surgery is over 6 months is it too late for an enhancement and is a new flap too risky?
I'm torn between leaving well enough alone and yet enjoying monovision contact presurgery and it's benefits. do you think this is worth a second surgery to try for monovision again, and it's risks. I really hate the reading glasses and I know it's going to get worse down the road.
Please try a contact lens first to simulate what your vision might be like now with monovision. Before considering a touch up, it is critical to know whether you will tolerate the monovsion with your current set up. If you do love monovision - then you can consider an enhcnacement in your monovision eye. You must weigh the risks of the enhancement procedure versus the benefit.
Best of luck
