I am 47 years old. I had monovision lasik on 12/7/01. After the surgery,my right eye is OK but I felt like I have sand in my left eye( undercorrected) and have a trouble to read fine print or in dim light. My surgeon prescripe a reading glass with 0 for the left eye and +2 for the right eye to help me reading and do computer work. My left eye became cloudy everyday and My DOctor can not find anything wrong during the four post operation exams( 1 days, 1 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks) until the recent examnination on 6/7/02 he told me that I have cataract on the left eye and the lasik correction for the left was off center. He suggested that i have a special cataract surgery. Could cataract is a complication of the LASIK surgery? What is my best way to corect my vision?
Thanks

Thank you for your question. Can I ask a few questions
1. What was youe prescription prior to LASIK
2. Did you use steroid eye drops after surgery (most everyone does). If so - for how long
3. Have you ever taken oral steroids before
4. Do you use nasal or inhaled steroids for allergies, asthma, etc
5. Have you gotten a second opinion yet?
I will be happy to answer further - but was curious as to these answers
Thank you
