I had surgery done with a Nidek laser which left me with complications like double vision and loss of night vision. The Mel 70 manufactured by www.asclepion.com was able to correct my eye sight thank god. I have researched the Mel 70 since and discovered it is one of the most expensive and probably the most advanced laser system on the market at this time. The Mel 70 is capable of custom ablation and also wavefront guided ablation, which according to results presented in Boston by Dr. D Dausch has produced results as good as 20/6. Probably the most useful ability of the mel 70 at this time is it's ability to enlarge central optical zones using it's TOSCA system.

BTW, how long has it been since your enhancment? Your news is good news to me and I'm am so glad to hear you say such good things about the Mel 70.. Makes me feel my doctor chose the right machine. My doctor could have use the B & L but for my perscription, his choice was the Mel 70 for reasons I'm really not awear of.

Dr. Stockdill probably chose the Mel 70 over the B+L because the Mel 70 uses less cornea, about the same rate as the Visx S2. Dr.Stockdill is the Clinic Director and has a reputation as being one of the top 2 or 3 Dr's in the area. No I don't have any connection to Lexington.

I would imagine most of the laser's in use today in the U.S have a windows 95 operating system as most like the Visx S2 were in use before windows 98 ect. were on the market. The Mel 70 is capable of stopping at anytime during surgery and restarting exactly were it stopped.

The MEL 70 laser is not used in the USA (and I am not familiar with it) because it is not FDA approved.

The Mel 70 is being introduced to the U.S. Market by Icon laser. Unfortunately Icon signed a deal giving it exclusive right to the Mel 70 for 1 year.
